The stunningly beautiful and rustically charming Les Gets is a typical Savoyard village, tucked deep within the Portes du Soleil, the largest interconnected ski resort in the world. Despite the popularity of its bigger brothers Morzine and Avoriaz, Les Gets has managed to preserve its mountain-village soul, a hidden gem in the colossal 650 km ski resort. Typically family-orientated, the local pistes snake silently through the surrounding forests, offering an extensive catalogue of beginner blue slopes and intermediate reds. Travelling from Geneva to Les Gets is quick and easy, making it is incredibly practical for short ski breaks as well as week-long holidays.
Les Gets’ immediate ski area links to Morzine and on through to the larger Portes Du Soleil. The Les Gets area offers a fantastic tree lined ski area with wonderful slopes to learn on and progress into a strong intermediate. Wide sweeping pistes characterise the area and provide more than enough terrain for a ski holiday even without linking to Avoriaz and Switzerland. For the more advanced there are plenty of bumps, steeps and deep snow to be found too. Towards Avoriaz and the wider Portes Du Soleil there are endless opportunities for higher slopes, high mileage skiing and fantastic terrain for every level. Advanced skiers and snowboarders can access some steep pistes including the famous Swiss Wall, patrolled off pistes ‘snow zones’ and wonderful backcountry. For those of the freestyle persuasion there are some of the best parks in Europe and the unique Burton stash. The Portes Du Soleil is not to be missed.
Number of lifts in the Portes Du Soleil: 206

Les Gets transfer times (approximate times based on normal road conditions)
Geneva 1 hour 10 minutes
Lyon 2 hours 45 minutes
The transfer from Geneva to Les Gets takes just an hour and 10 minutes making it one of the shortest transfers available. It can be very busy on Saturdays and Sundays as both are big changeover days in resort. Other than holidaymakers taking a Geneva Airport transfer to Les Gets, the town attracts a lot of day skiers, due to its proximity to many local towns and cities. This can severely increase the volume of traffic on the road. All Les Gets taxi services exit via the same road that services Morzine and Avoriaz, so we always exercise caution and extend departure times on the weekends from New Year until the end of March. We also offer a shared service on all Les Gets transfers from Geneva Airport.
