Although there is still snow in the mountains and on the slopes for great Easter skiing, we are all looking towards the Summer season.
Summer as always, kicks-off with the Pass-porte mountain bike festival over the last weekend of June. With 22 mountain bike lifts open, 50+ downhill bike trails and an 80km circuit through the mountains, this is fast becoming a main calendar event for mountain bikers with up to 7,000 riders participating.
Available for the Summer months is the Multi-Pass which provides access to the indoor and outdoor swimming pool in Morzine, the various cultural sites around the area, numerous sport and leisure activities, including the outdoor tennis courts and mountain lifts passes across Morzine and Les Gets.
Transfers from Geneva airport also provides access to some key events this coming Summer. June (14th to 18th) sees the Crankworx world tour back in Les Gets which holds a host of exciting events including the dual speed and style race, slopestyle trick competition and the Les Gets downhill event in the heart of Europe’s biggest bike park, on the Mont Chery side of the resort.
Back due to popular demand is the second year for the Spartan Race (01 - 02 July). Testing those foolhardy enough to tackle this ‘beast’ of a race course. There is also a ‘junior’ course for the younger generation.
Coming to Morzine every other year is the Harley Days Festival (13 - 16 July). This fun weekend is topped off with plenty of music, food stalls and lots of amazing Harley bikes (and their owners!) to see.
Finishing off the Summer season, is the 69th Mont Blanc Rally (31 Aug - 02 Sept). Morzine has hosted this rally for the last 20 years and it’s a key stage in the French Automobile Championships.
